This programme provides a structured, evidence-based approach to Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) for staff working with challenging behaviours, Learning Disabilities, children and young people. It reflects current expectations around safeguarding, behaviour management, and promoting positive outcomes, as set out by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission.

The course reinforces the principle that behaviour is a form of communication. Staff are trained to move beyond surface-level responses and develop a clear understanding of the underlying causes of behaviour, including unmet needs, environmental factors, and emotional regulation difficulties.

Strong emphasis is placed on prevention, consistency, and early intervention. Learners develop the skills to identify triggers, recognise early warning signs, and implement proactive strategies that reduce the likelihood of escalation. This aligns directly with inspection frameworks that expect providers to demonstrate thoughtful, individualised approaches to behaviour support rather than reactive or punitive practice.

The programme also supports organisations in meeting their responsibilities around safeguarding, dignity, and least-restrictive practice.
